Complete Attack Cyberman

Hi

I am new to the forum but have a passion for all Doctor Who related props and thought some of you might like to see an image of my complete screen used Cyberman from Attack, the only parts that are not original are the handle bars, mouth and centre cheat panel.

Painting gloves

I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of pairs of original 80's zip backed leather gloves on eBay last week. The black ones especially look very similar to the ones auctioned at Bonhams last year, so should pass off well on the costumesmiley: wink

Should I prime these before painting them silver or is it ok to go straight ahead with the colour? I'm only planning to put on as thin a coat as necessary to avoid too much paint cracking.

My Cyber Leader costume

The seller/builder of my costume finally has sent a first pic of his work:

And what can I say about it? I'm REALLY pleased with how it came out and can't wait to get my hands on it! I'm also pleased to see that everything's coming to an end now since I'm waiting for it A FULL YEAR now!

I also like the black detailing of the suit which might not be very screen-accurate, but it gives the whole thing a more realistic look (or at least I think so)...

He stated that there's still some work to be done on the chest unit and when that's finished, he's positive to get it all shipped out at this very weekend! *Insert smiling Cyberman here*

He also wanted to send me a coulpe of pics showing the finished gloves and boots. I'll certainly upload them as soon as I got...

My erstwhile Cyberman project has at last begun to progress....

Picked up a pair of Sportex motorbike gloves (ladies - so am just hoping they'll cope with my sausage fingers!) for a tenner on ebay. Now just need to move on to the rest of the suit... (I'll practise fist-clenching in the mean time.)

Are we settled on silver plastikote as the way to go about silvering?

Attack Build Update

There's been a bit of progress with my build over the last couple of weeks. My helmet has arrived, courtesy of Duncan Campbell (& my wife - Birthday presentsmiley: wink). I have also started work on my cybergun, although it's in the very early stages. Does anyone have any ideas what to use for the red insert in the transparent part of the barrel? All the body of my gun is transparent at the moment as it was previously a B&Q bird feeder! The only thing I could find that was the 75mm width needed to go behind the firing nozzlesmiley: eyes Could anyone tell me the diameter of the tube that goes between the body of the gun and the back of the handle please?

One thing I have noticed is that the top of the chest unit scratches the neck of the helmet when it's worn, I'm going to put some...

Un touched original Nemesis head and chest and gun!!!!!!

Now hear is something you just dont see!!! possibly the only surviving un touched original Nemesis helmet and chest unit, the chest unit is the one that the arrows were fired into or rather pulled out, the dusting of silver spray in the centre was applied on set and is original to production as the explosive squibs blew chrome off!!

My Earthshock Suit

Hi I decided to try and make a suit for my Earthshock Cyberman I have been using a sweat suit in the past that is silver hot and uncomfortable so with a bit of thought and some work I have come up with a plan.
I made a clay relief of an arm section and then cast it with plaster this was turned into a silicone mold to make latex sections

My brother Gareth made the leg detail and this was made into a silicone mold the first attempt at this with latex cam out like a sticky face hugger so attempt 2 is now underway.

The arm sections have worked quite well and have been glued onto one arm and some more detail added. I have painted the overalls with a latex solution and sprayed silver while still damp this gives flexibility to the paint.

Five Doctors

Hi All-

Was wondering if anyone had any photos/images of omitted parts from the Raston Warrior Robot scene in the Five Doctors. e.g. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the picture of the CyberLeader with his chest panel blown out but in the actual episode he just vomits, with chest unit still in tacked.

Cybergun Sound Effect

I would like to put a light & sound effect in my Cybergun, has anyone done this? If so, how did you get the correct cyber sound effect to work? I've thought about using a cheap MP3 player, but not sure if that would be the best method..

Any ideas guys?

This was originally Chris Balcombe's who got an original RAF suit and gave it to Andy Hopkins to turn into a Cyber suit, i in turn got it from Jay, the person who has a rather large and very nice original cyber collection, i know the chest unit is the wrong one, but i can live with that just now.  if anyone wants close up pics of any piece of the suit, just ask , email me at skaro1963@sky.com

Mk VI Fancy Dress

Hello there.  Some time ago, I posted about the fact that I was building a Cyberman Mk VI suit for my new years fancy dress party.  Well I did it!!!  Please find attached pictures below for your viewing pleasure!!!smiley: happy

My regret was I didn't perfect the suit in time to let me add detail to the body suit or pipes on the chest armour.  I also asked my friend at the hospital for clear tubes to attach to the head piece but he didn't come through for me.  I think it still looked effective though. 

I now know how the actors inside the suits feel!  It was very, very hot!!!

New to the forum and still looking around. Is there any plans around for the Cybergun similar to the Project Dalek plans. These would be most helpful. I already have a 3/4 finished Dalek and i would like to expand my collection but i have no idea of any sizes of parts ( tube diameter, lengths ETC)for the Gun.

Five Doctors build

Thought I'd post up a couple of pictures fromt he test fitting of 'er indoors Five Doctors suit which is about 85% done.  We're still missing the bullet racks and waiting on a Mooncrest kit for the gun.



Unfortunately we were quite disappointed that the chestpiece is unwearable as is.  I'm not sure if it's been constructed at too small as scale in general but the rear section curves too far inwards into the upper back for the front of the neck to sit in the correct place, even without the flight suit underneath. As a result the neck of the helmet can't possibly sit inside the shoulders as seen onscreen, unless you have the ability to detach your head to put the lid on!

I'm thinking of cutting it in half to seperate the back and the front and either creating a material shim to allow...

I'm thinking of making another earthshock/five doctors style suit and was thinking has anything tried using a wetsuit as a base layer? I much prefer the fitted look as opposed to the more baggy 'Attack' versions. 

Was thinking of using either of these:

Earthshock Pep File?

Friends,
I spent a couple of weeks looking online for an Earthshock variant (or any classic cyberman, come to think of) Pepakura/pdo file. Does one exist? I was able to find a papercraft version of the cybergun, although it did look a little less detailed than a full pep file. Help would be greatly appreciated!
